Icing and Decor
ROLLED FONDANT
Fondant Icing is the sheet like covering you see on most of the wedding cakes in the gallery. Fondant comes in traditional and marshmallow. Traditional is a more perfect finish and I recommend it for all wedding cakes. It tastes very sweet as it's main ingredient is glucose. Marshmallow is used more for decor and kids cakes as they tend to enjoy the sticky marshmallowy taste.
BUTTERCREME
Under the fondant buttercreme, cream cheese icing, or chocolate fudge buttercream seal the moisture in the cake.The look is the same, personal preference in taste is your only concern. For a kids party try cauliflower icing - sweet cream cheese taste, and made from vegetables too!


DECOR
Fresh flowers is a personal favorite for decorating fondant covered cakes. However after getting a sense of the person and the occasion, together we come up with a design. I am currently able to:

  • Royal icing decor such as the tiny flowers on the Spring Colours cake,
  • Fondant decor such as the beads on the Bling Bling cake,
  • And buttercreme designs similar to a grocery store birthday cake.
  • If you've got a picture of what you want, I love a challenge and would never take on a project that I couldn't master.
Whatever the theme of your wedding, having a cake that fits in perfectly with the bridesmaids dresses, the venue, or simply your personalities adds to a memorable occasion.
